Werkzeugmaschienenfabrik

[ 2011 ]
year five
RWTH Aachen - M1 - WS
project brief was to design a work-machines factory at Avantis, a technology research & development area on the border-line between Germany and Netherlands.
the idea of retaining the existing railway / tram-line to go through the newly proposed building was quite exciting, and it has defined the start-point of the design.

Pavillon LaGa

[ 2012 ]
year five
RWTH Aachen - M1 - SS
project brief was to design a pavillon for the Landesgartenschau Zulpich'14 in the garden of a church near Zulpich Castle.
locating the pavillon on top of the existing moat / ditch around the castle, and using the natural slope of it for user recreation was the start-point of the design.

Borusan Kindergarten

[ 2013 ]
Architectural Contest
contest brief was to develop a prototype of a kindergarten in an industrial estate to provide day-care to the infants of those, working in the estate.
proposal used the existing topography of the site and suggested a circular design to create an actual and psychological sense of space perception and privacy. the design accommodated a green atrium for outdoor play, accessible from all levels of the proposed space through a central ramp.

Urban Redevelopment of Halic Shipyards

[ 2012 ]
year four
U.U. Studio '8
project brief was to suggest a redevelopment to the historical docks of the goldern horn in Istanbul. the site has been through many minor developments, starting from the ottoman times, and all of these developments seem to have something in common- isolation.
the proposal wanted to suggest the contrary (simply because- 'accessible' is a more up-to-date approach for today's society), without diminishing the impact of 'isolation' as it has become an important aspect of the site's characteristics over the years.

Aquarium + Fish Museum

[ 2011 ]
year four
U.U. Studio '7
project brief was to design a museum at an historical village / ancient town called Golyazi / Apollania ad Rhyndacum.
it was a challenging brief as the necessity of a museum in the village was highly questionable- it exhibited itself already, at it's own scale and pattern, in its historical and newly adapted ways. taking this as a start-point, the design copied the village-scale, and suggested an integration of the existing and proposed spaces using a mapping of the translucent & solid surfaces.

Campus Accommodation

[ 2007 ]
year one
U.U. Studio '1
project brief was to suggest an alternative design for the on-campus student accommodation.
the idea of a proposal that is itself 'alternating' was the striking start-point of the design, resulted to be a structure of 12 rotating housing-units, creating different versions of itself based on the user preference.
